Welcome to Almoçageme holiday home!
Almoçageme is a tranquil, typically Portuguese village in the Colares area, in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park west of Lisbon. The village is a few minutes walk from the sea and offers one thing above all: hardly any tourism. The peace and quiet in the nature reserve surrounding the Almoçageme holiday home will make your holiday a truly relaxing experience.
Forget your everyday life for a few days and immerse yourself in an environment of originality, rusticity and wild power of the Atlantic.
On the northern edge of the village of Almoçageme near Colares in the Sintra-Cascais nature reserve, our holiday homes Valmarinha 1 and 2 are located on the same plot of land and adjoin each other, but have their own entrances and are completely different in style and equipment.
The architect house Valmarinha 1 is the modern, larger house with garden and room for up to 5 persons. The approx. 70 m² garden invites you to relax. From here and all rooms of the house you have a breathtaking view to the sea.
Up to 4 persons can be accommodated in the 46 m² domicile. The bright and friendly house is furnished in a modern way and offers a view to the sea from the 18 m² terrace.
The holiday home Almocageme is located on the edge of the tranquil village of Almocageme, a typical Portuguese village with about 400 permanent residents of all generations.
It can be reached by public bus lines that run every hour from the towns of Sintra and Cascais. From there, there are connections to Lisbon via suburban trains. The distance to Lisbon and the airport is about 45 km.
In the village there are all the facilities for daily needs: 3 mini-markets with a full range of products, a drugstore and a pharmacy. Culinary delights are provided by 4 restaurants in Almoçageme in different price categories and 5 cafés, which are open 6-7 days during the season.
The most beautiful beach in the immediate vicinity of the Almocageme holiday home is undoubtedly „Praia da Adraga“, which can be reached by road 1 km away or by a twenty-minute walk through nature.
The famous surfer beach „Praia Grande“ is 5 km away by road and can also be reached by a longer walk of about 40 minutes to the northwest over the breathtaking panorama of the rocky coast.
To „Cabo da Roca“, the most western point of the continent, you can reach it in southwest direction by foot in about 1.5 hours on a hiking trail along the coast or by car over 8 km in 20 minutes.
Southeast of Almoçageme is the Serra de Sintra, which begins immediately after the village. Hikes with fantastic views over the entire coast are also recommended here.
For those interested in art history, the immediate area offers an extraordinary variety of highlights such as Sintra with the architecture of the Fin du Siècle and extraordinary parks, the royal castle and the monastery of Mafra as well as the port city of Cascais with partly award-winning modern architecture.
